Tired of endless swiping and ghosted text threads? Charleston singles are getting the chance to try something different by connecting face-to-face at Happy Hour: City Center Live Singles Night on Friday, October 3, from 5–7 PM at City Center at Slack Plaza. The event is free and open to anyone seeking love, friendship, or simply a fun Friday night.
Produced by Sprout Consulting in partnership with Arts Amplified, which presents the City Center Live series, the evening is designed to make meeting new people feel easy, lighthearted, and even a little silly. Guests can grab a name tag, answer offbeat icebreaker questions (like “What’s your mediocre superpower?”), and use stickers to show whether they’re hoping to meet a date, a friend, or just have a good conversation.
The night also features giant games, live music, and a collaborative art project on a community canvas, giving everyone plenty of ways to mix, mingle, and laugh together.
"We wanted to create a night that takes the pressure out of meeting people," said Naomi Bays, producer of Sprout Consulting. "Dating apps can feel exhausting — this event is about real connection, laughter, and discovering the fun side of community. Whether you leave with a new friend or a new crush, you’ll leave smiling."
