"The Commissioner" Matt Murphy began his WTSQ journey in 2015 as one of the recurring "characters" on Josh Gaffin's world famous Afternoon Show. Matt soon became a co-host on The Anti-Hour along with Lisa Bernheim, every Saturday afternoon on The Status Quo. The Commissioner would eventually host the Morning Drive weekday mornings on WTSQ, and began expanding his role as audio producer.With this humble start in radio at WTSQ, Matt found himself in the unique position to take on a role with WVRC Media in Charleston in 2017, working for the WV Metronews flagship station 580-WCHS, and eventually taking on a full-time position as the cluster's traffic manager in 2019. This would mark the end of The Commissioner's first stint with WTSQ, but it would not be the last!
In early 2026, The Commissioner rejoined the ranks of WTSQ - The Status Quo, now running the CharlesTunes Podcast Center, and assisting with audio production and other operational needs. You can also hear The Commissioner Friday afternoons 3pm-5pm, hosting The Friday Wind Up, a show full of good vibes and energy to thrust you into the weekend!
